Date : Aug 22 2014
Jeera futures fell as demand was weak in the spot market and buying interest in futures was low. Spot price, however, remained unchanged with demand being limited. Sources expect arrivals to remain moderate but till exports pick up significantly, the trend is likely to remain weak.

On the NCDEX, jeera September contract lost Rs.45 to Rs.11,265 a quintal, with an open interest of 7,692 lots. At Unjha mandi of Gujarat, about 5,000 bags arrived and price was quoted at Rs.1,850-2,311 for 20 kg. About 700-800 bags arrived in Rajkot and went for Rs.1,824-2,015.
