Ample stocks keep sugar on leash |
Date : |
Jan 30 2015 |
Sugar prices remained unchanged on
Vashi wholesale market on the back of routine demand-supply. On the
lower side, prices went up by Rs.2-5 a quintal. Naka and mill tender
rates were steady as producers continued selling at prevailing
prices. Enough stocks in the hands of the stockists kept them away
from building up new inventory.
Arrivals continue to be at 62-63
truckloads and local dispatches at 61-62 loads. On Wednesday evening,
only 19-20 mills offered tenders and sold 38,000-40,000 bags at
Rs.2,550-2,670 (Rs.2,550-2,670) for S-grade and Rs.2,650-2,800
(Rs.2,650-2,800) for M-grade.
The Bombay Sugar Merchants
Association’s spot rates: S-grade Rs.2,695-2,782 (Rs.2,685-2,782)
and M-grade Rs.2,802-2,946 (Rs.2,800-2,946). Naka delivery rates:
S-grade Rs.2,620-2,700 (Rs.2,620-2,700) and M-grade Rs.2,720-2,870
(Rs.2,720-2,870). Source :-Business Line
