HeadLine : Jeera gains on fresh buying

Jeera price was moved up on the back of fresh buying by stockists and some retail demand. Following this short covering was seen in future market which lifted up price of the commodity.

 Traders said buying support from retailers and stockists against fall in supplies from producing belts mainly pushed up jeera prices.

 At Unjha mandi of Gujarat arrival of jeera was reported about 2,000 bags and price was gone up by 20 to 2,400-3,315 per 20 kg.

About 500 bags arrived in Rajkot mandi and price increased by 20 to 2,300-3,350 per 20 kg.

On National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) jeera September futures was gained 115 to 15,745 per quintal, with an open interest of 15,654 lots. NCDEX jeera October futures was moved up 115 to 16,090 per quintal, with an open interest of 7,515 lots.
