Date : Nov 27 2015
On the back of lower sowing in Gujarat, price of jeera was up by 1 per cent in the futures market. However, the upside was limited in spot as demand from export was slightly down.

According to traders, sowing this year had decreased, which mainly lifted up jeera prices in the spot and futures market. On the other hand, demand for export was down, which limited the gain.

On the NCDEX, the jeera December contract increased Rs.160 to Rs.16,120 per quintal, with an open interest of 10,731 lots. The NCDEX jeera January contract was up by Rs.130 to Rs.16,365, with an open interest of 2,964 lots. About 4,000 bags arrived in Unjha mandi of Gujarat and was traded up by Rs.20 to Rs.2,350-3,400 .

Arrival was registered about 500 bags in Rajkot APMC and price was quoted higher by Rs.25 to Rs.2,200-3,300
