HeadLine : Quality woes pound pepper

Spot pepper prices continued to stay easier on quality woes. Because of high moisture content sellers were ready to sell at 700 a kg. Karnataka sellers were offering their produce at 695.

On the terminal market, 13 tonnes were traded at 700 and 695 a kg. Spot prices declined by 300 a quintal to 69,300 (ungarbled) and 69,600 (garbled). June, July and August contracts on the IPSTA remained steady at 71,000, 70,000 and 69,000 a quintal respectively.

Export prices remained at $10,800 a tonne c&f for Europe and $11,050 for the US.
