Spot turmeric prices and arrivals registered a decline at the markets in Erode. Only 1,000 bags of medium quality turmeric arrived for sale. Local traders purchased 65 per cent stock. At the Erode Turmeric Merchants Association Sales yard, finger turmeric was sold at Rs 5,609-7.674 a quintal, root variety was sold at Rs 5,499-6,974. Of the 523 bags on offer, 301 were traded. At the Regulated Marketing Committee, finger turmeric was sold at Rs 6,300-7,064 . Root variety was sold at Rs 5,001- 6,509 . All the 109 bags were sold.
